Chris Barr is a Sheffield based designer and maker.
Since graduating from an Industrial Design MA at Sheffield Institute of Arts in 2014 Chris worked as a Product Designer in Sheffield. However, in June 2016 he left full time employment to pursue a line of work with a greater emphasis on his practical skills. Now working primarily with wood he undertakes projects from: furniture, product, camper van furniture and climbing walls, to name just a few. Alongside his practical work Chris has been an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Institute of Arts and in 2015 worked at Nottingham Trent University in their sustainability research department. His academic interest is the sustainability of design, with particular interest on product longevity - how, and why we might keep products for longer. |
